  • Question:

    What is available to me in the Mediabase?

     

    Answer:

    The Mediabase contains pictures, logos, catalogues etc from House Doctor, Nicolas Vahe and Meraki. You will find pictures in different sizes with different backgrounds and in high / low quality to meet your specific needs.

  • Question:

    How does the menu work?

     

    Answer:

    From the start page you can select the brand you want to browse within. Under a brand you can always change the brand in the top left corner in “sort by brand”. When a brand is selected you can select the type of file you are after.

    For example the pictures are divided into menus like:

    Products - Contains packshot photos in different sizes and with different backgrounds

    Product Style - Contains pictures of products in environment - a styled packshot. Detail pictures and pictures with related products.

    Style - Contains pictures used in our catalogue material.

    when one of these menus is selected you have the opportunity to filter your selection. Depending on what menu you have chosen. You can filter by quality, dimension, and season - to get exactly the pictures you need. you can always change your filter choices on-the-go.

  • Question:

    How do I find a picture?

     

    Answer:

    If you already have a product ID you can use the search field in the top bar to find all pictures related to this ID. If you just want to browse after a product in the Mediabase, you can use the steps explained in the “How does the menu work?” question.

  • Question:

    What file formats can I find?

     

    Answer:

    Pictures in the mediabase comes in .jpg with the exception of the transparent files which are in .png. Jpg and png files are the most common formats for online use and the HQ jpg is perfect for print. All pictures are embedded with a RGB profile. Manuals, press releases etc are found in .pdf and logo files can be found in .eps and .ai.

  • Question:

    Backgrounds and Resolution

     

    Answer:

    Packshot pictures (products) in the Mediabase comes with 3 backgrounds. White (#ffffff), grey (#f3f3f3) and a transparent file. Product style and Style pictures all come with a styled environment background.

    Pictures come in HQ (High Quality) and LQ (Low Quality) formats.
    The HQ formats is full camera resolution at 300ppi - perfect for printing. Note that product pictures comes with a white background with a path in HQ.
    The LQ formats are 1200x1200 (1:1 ratio) and 1200x1800 (2:3 ratio) pixels at 72ppi for screen use. Style pictures only come in 2:3 ratio.

  • Question:

    What is the product gallery?

     

    Answer:

    The product gallery is where you can see all pictures available for a product. The gallery opens in a new window so you don’t loose track of your position. In the gallery you will see packshots, with various backgrounds and Product style pictures where available. The transparent .png is only available in 1200x1200 format.

    From the gallery you can shift between formats and download a complete package for the product shown. You also have the opportunity to download files one by one and download a HQ packshot with path. If the “Download HQ” button is inactive the HQ version is currently unavailable. You can also add to your download list or send a picture to an email from here.

  • Question:

    What is a .zip file?

     

    Answer:

    When a number of pictures etc is added to the download list you have the opportunity to download all items as a package to your computer. This package is a .zip file. The zip file compresses all items into a single file for easy download and easy share. When downloading many files this method would be the preferred and easiest. To see the files you have downloaded as a .zip you will need to “unzip” your downloaded package. Most new computers today have a unzip program pre-installed. But in case you don’t have a program you can find free ones here:

    With a program installed you can just double-click the .zip file to unpack it

  • Question:

    What is a contact sheet?

     

    Answer:

    From the Download list you have the option to download your added pictures as a contact sheet. A contact sheet is a pdf file containing a grid view of the pictures together with the picture ID. This is a good way to have a visual overview of the files downloaded and to share and overview of the pictures. The amount of pages in the pdf depends on the amount of pictures added to your download list. The contact sheet pdf can be printed, send or shared to your liking.

  • Question:

    Why doesn’t my files download?

     

    Answer:

    If you have no success in downloading files - single download, .zip og contact sheet - please check the following:

    · Are you connected to the internet? Try to visit another site in a new window to make sure you are connected.

    · Please try to download a file directly from the download list as a single file.

    · Remove your files from the download list and try adding them again.

    · If nothing works please write an email to mediahelp@housedoctor.dk
